Before we dive into the steps, you will first need to understand exactly what energy is. Simply put, energy is the life force that pushes us forward – and I mean both mentally and physically.
Without energy, we feel foggy-headed, unbalanced, and unmotivated. These are all things you don’t want in your day-to-day life! The truth is that it’s hard to really keep our energy levels up when we need to manage both our mental and physical energy.
I struggled for a long time with feeling exhausted, and for a long time I didn’t know what to do to combat it. My energy would drop at some point in the day and leave me unable to do anything productive.
That’s exactly why I took it upon myself to create an easy guide to try to boot your energy levels up! Keep on reading to find out more!
1. Sunlight as a Way To Stay Energized
The benefits of sunlight sometimes seem almost endless! Firstly, it’s a source of Vitamin D, which is an extremely important vitamin for your bones, immune system, and your entire body in general!
Yet the benefits of sunlight don’t stop there! A chemical in our brains known as serotonin is responsible for many things, in particular, providing us with energy throughout the day.
Sunlight in fact boosts this chemical, allowing you to have more of it throughout the day.
Another great reason to remain energized using sunlight is because it supports our circadian rhythms! Our circadian rhythms are basically our biological internal clocks, and having that regulated leads to more energy throughout the day.
So let in that sunlight through your window, even if it’s for a couple of minutes, it will do you good!
2. Stay Energized: Eat the Right Things
A healthy diet is important for many reasons, but keeping our energy levels up is possibly the most vital one.
Knowing the right foods to eat can be challenging, especially if you don’t know where to start. That’s why I’m giving you the right resources to remain energized and healthy!
One of the first suggested foods to keep your energy levels up is Oatmeal. The way our body metabolizes this type of carbohydrate is a little different. Since it is a ‘complex carbohydrate’, it lets out energy slowly throughout the day! Rather than having a burst of energy, you’re maintaining a stable level which is exactly what you want!
Another great suggestion is bananas! Bananas are a great source of potassium, vitamin B6, and protein, which are all elements that give us energy! You can put your bananas in your oatmeal for double the effectiveness. Seriously, the options are endless!
Last, but not least are avocados…and for good reason. Our beloved avocados are actually superfoods, which means that they’re rich in many nutrients. Not to mention, they’re full of fiber which allows you to have sustained energy throughout the day!
Try to incorporate these foods into your daily diet, and you’ll be surprised that just adding one or two could totally change your day-to-day experience!
3. Drink Enough Water To Remain Energized
It goes without saying that none of us in this world can live without water.
Still, that doesn’t stop many of us from neglecting it sometimes. Well, at least I do.
I’ll be honest, sometimes I struggle to remember to drink more than one cup of water. Whenever I do this, I experience headaches, lack of concentration, and lots of brain fog.
These are all symptoms of dehydration, and they’re not conducive to maintaining energy throughout the day!
For this reason, drinking the recommended daily amount of water is crucial to keeping yourself healthy and energized. There are also apps that will remind you to drink water throughout the day if you have trouble remembering!
You’d be surprised how simply drinking enough water throughout the day can help boost your daily energy!
Bonus Tip: Get a Good Night’s Rest
This might be a bonus tip, but it might be the most important one here!
I know it seems obvious, but getting proper rest is your best bet for maintaining stable energy levels. Think about it, how can you remain energetic if you aren’t getting the proper rest you need?
Simply getting 8 hours of sleep is enough to boost your energy levels for the whole day. All of the other tips in this article work best if you’re working on a good night’s rest!
Honestly, when I don’t get my 8 hours I truly feel it the next day. I do have to say though, that some people don’t necessarily need 8 hours. Everyone is different, so find whatever a good night’s rest means to you!
