After surviving not one, but two years of a pandemic, most of us understand what it was like to be cooped up inside.
A lot of us were unable to go outside and were starved of basic luxuries such as greenery and sunlight! The effects of that were all around not great for our mental and physical health.
We clearly need to be in touch with some elements of nature, so why not bring it to our own workspace?
A study has shown that adding greenery to your workspace has positive impacts on stress, mood and cognitive ability.
As you can see, adding some nature to your workspace can have brilliant effects! You can start off with something as simple as having a plant on your table, or even on your shelf! It doesn’t have to be anything spectacular.
2. Find a Good Location

The problem is…how will you know that it is a good location in the first place?
Well, the first thing to look out for is a space which has little to no distractions. Distraction is your worst enemy whilst you’re trying to be productive. If you’d like to know more about how to stop getting distracted, check out my article!
Having your work space near a TV is going to lead to a lot of distractions. On the other hand, finding a quiet corner in your room with lots of natural light is far better.
Also, your bed is not your workspace! Unless you’re considering taking a nap, you’re not going to get any work done there.
Bonus Tip:
Having a workspace close to a window is a perfect way to ensure a great location! This brings a little bit of the outside world into your work session, which will make you feel a little less isolated!
If that isn’t enough to convince you, a window is also a great source of natural light. Light from the sun actually increases cognitive performance far more than artificial life, so it’s definitely something to look out for.
