How these Spelling Bee hints work
Hints go from gentle to full: how many words and points there are, how many words start with each pair of letters, a grid of first letter by word length, then the pangram revealed one letter at a time. Type any word into the checker to see if it counts without seeing the rest of the list.

When does the Spelling Bee change?
A new puzzle goes live at 3:00 a.m. Eastern (midnight Pacific). This page switches to it once two public answer lists agree, usually within an hour.
How are these hints made?
We take the day's word list from two independent public answer sites and only publish when they match word for word. The counts, two-letter list, grid and pangram reveal are all worked out from that list.
What is a pangram?
A word that uses all seven letters at least once. It scores its length plus 7 bonus points.
How is the score counted?
4-letter words score 1 point; longer words score one point per letter; pangrams get 7 extra. Genius is roughly 70% of the maximum.
